Explore therapy fees at Emerge for individual, family, and couples sessions, as well as group therapy options. We offer affordable rates, accept Medi-Cal for adolescent groups, and provide payment flexibility through check or credit card. Learn more about EAP and insurance and/or superbilling options. OUR PROCESS Whether our first contact is by email, phone or text, we will arrange some time to talk with you to better understand your needs. We will discuss treatment options and whether we have a therapist that is a good fit for you. If not, we are happy to recommend other providers. Assessment Session(s) The first 1-3 sessions are the assessment phase of therapy. We gather as much information as possible about your concerns, their history and what you have tried to address them. During this process, we will discuss our impressions of your situation and recommend a course of treatment and/or action. While it is hard to predict how treatment progress because there are so many variables, we will give you some idea of what to expect going forward. Ongoing Process and Feedback Assuming that your treatment involves ongoing sessions, the therapist will check in with you frequently to ensure that your concerns are being met. Discussing the process of therapy with you directly is not only good customer service, it is an essential ingredient of good therapy. Ending Therapy While it is your decision alone to end therapy, it is useful to discuss this openly as part of the therapeutic process for several reasons: If there are any concerns about your therapy, we may be able to address them The process of ending is a way to review progress on your goals and plan for the future Being thoughtful about ending can help us think about other options for your continued growth While therapy can go on indefinitely as a personal growth process, this should be a well thought out choice after specific areas of concern have been addressed. - Adolescent Groups | EMERGE CENTER
Adolescents grow in groups. While individual therapy offers teens a private and focused hour that can be extremely beneficial, it cannot offer the kind of social experience that teens can benefit from in groups. Group therapy is experiential learning of a social and emotional nature. As a result, group therapy has several advantages over individual therapy. ADOLESCENT GROUPS Adolescents are more lonely now than ever before. And group therapy can be a powerful way of making connections and feeling less isolated. As social relationships have added importance in adolescence, group therapy offers an opportunity to work on relationship skills with other group members and develop a support system to deal with all the challenges of adolescent life. A safe space to be heard, supported, and understood. Every teen is dealing with something different, that’s why we offer themed groups designed for what you need. Whether you want to manage anxiety, build confidence, or feel more connected, there’s a group where people get what you’re going through. Most people feel that way at first. You can participate in whatever way feels comfortable, we’ll never put you on the spot. With time, it usually becomes a space you look forward to each week. Do I have to talk about personal stuff? Nope. You get to decide what you share and when you share it. We’ll do activities and skills-building that don’t require deep personal disclosure to be helpful. How long are group sessions and how often do they meet? Each group meets once per week for about 60 minutes. We’ll share your specific group’s schedule before you start. What do we actually do during group? A mix of conversation, guided activities, and learning coping skills. We might do creative exercises, talk through challenges, or practice strategies to handle stress, friendships, and self-confidence. GROUP AGREEMENT The Group Agreement is an important part of the therapeutic work. Members must agree to a few conditions in order to work effectively together and benefit from the group.
